OVERVIEW of the Stockton Inn

Originally built in 1710, the Stockton Inn has a storied history serving as a retreat for F. Scott Fitzgerald and Jackie Kennedy Onassis. It was a speakeasy during Prohibition catering to the wealthy from Philadelphia to New York. The Inn’s wishing well was made famous by the Rodgers and Hart song, “There’s a Small Hotel.” and Margaret Mitchell is rumored to have penned portions of Gone With the Wind here.

After an extensive renovation, the Inn re-opened in 2024.

THE ROOMS of the Stockton Inn

There are nine newly renovated guestrooms, four in the main inn and five in the carriage house. Each features hardwood floors, a beige/white color pallette and a plush king sized bed draped in Matouk linens. Bathrooms feature Penhaligon bath products. Some rooms have a fireplace, some a soaking tub and some both.
