About Us

Dear Traveler,

When you go on a short (weekend) trip you can’t afford to make a mistake on where you go, where you stay, where you eat, and what you do. There’s just no time to recover in that short amount of time.

Frustrated with the information available when planning a trip to somewhere I had never been, I created BestWeekends to provide weekend travelers with the information they need to ensure a great weekend.

We act as the traveler’s “advance team” visiting destinations and properties, staying in the lodging options, eating in the restaurants, and experiencing the activities. We then put the “best” of what we found on our site. We don’t use a shotgun approach, listing everything available, just the best of what we found. We have stayed in every lodging recommendation, eaten in every restaurant we feature, and experienced most of the activities we highlight.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND ON OUR SITE

1. Unique destinations with superior lodging options, great restaurants and lots to do.
2. Carefully curated lodging and restaurant recommendations based on our personal
experience. We look for the “Wow Factor”.
3. “Things to Do” section with links to top vendors.
4. Our exclusive Vacation Finder allows you to search by property type (B&B, Inn, Resort,
Hotel), destination type (Seaside, Country, City), geography, features (Restaurant, Bar, Fitness
Center, Spa, Fireplace Rooms, Pet Friendly, Waterfront) and recognition (AAA, Forbes,
Michelin, Wine Spectator awards) Just click on the “Search” or “Exclusive Vacation Finder”
buttons.
5. Our “Good To Know” features tells you the best places for breakfast, brunch and lunch,
where to find the best burger, oyster bar, wine bar, where to have cocktails, what to do after
dinner and much more.
6. Our “Special Things” feature highlights little known things to do that will make your
weekend even more special.

Now, we have over 300 destinations/properties and growing all the time and we hope that we are accomplishing what we set out to do.

A WORD ABOUT HOTEL PRICING

Hotel prices change all the time based on the time of year and inventory. The prices we list are Peak Season Weekend, the most you would have to pay. More often than not, you could find pricing for much less. Click on the Booking.com and Hotels.com buttons in each profile to find the best prices for your dates.

We’d always love to hear from you on what you think of our site and to offer tips on where we should go.
