OVERVIEW of the Sagamore Pendry
Baltimore has always been a great weekend destination, but it has only been in the last few years that the quality of lodging options has achieved a level consistent with other great city destinations.
The latest entry into the market is the Sagamore Pendry, a restored 1914 property located on Recreation Pier in the trendy Fells Point part of town, overlooking Baltimore Harbor. Sagamore Pendry Baltimore is the second property from Pendry Hotels, a new luxury hospitality brand from Montage International.
The hotel features interiors by Patrick Sutton Interior Design, and multiple food and beverage concepts developed in collaboration with acclaimed Chef Andrew Carmellini. The property maintains an extensive art collection with works by Chul Hyun Ahn, and renowned international sculptor Fernando Botero.
This is a spectacular property with gorgeous rooms, excellent dining, wonderful water views and surrounded by the most fun area of town.
THE ROOMS at the Sagamore Pendry
The 128 rooms start at a generous 370 sq ft and are decorated with brass fixtures, mahogany trim, hardwood floors and feature floor to ceilings windows with garden or harbor views. Custom patterned area rugs and stunning artwork add color to the space. Many rooms have a marble coffee table and leather couch. Beds feature Fili D’oro bedding from Northern Italy. Natural stone baths feature Pendry and MiN NYC toiletries. The shower has both a built in seat and a ledge (for leg shaving!)
DINING at the Sagamore Pendry
Dining and drink venues have become favorites of locals and tourists alike. Both bars have bustling Happy Hours.
The Cannon Room, an American whiskey bar, derives its name from the mighty cannons that lived beneath Recreation Pier for centuries. The space houses an intimate bar with a carefully curated menu of bourbon, rye and premium whiskey and featuring Sagamore Rye, a new locally crafted whiskey from the spring house at Sagamore Farm.
The Rec Pier Chop House is the signature restaurant serving all meals. It was created by NYC Chef Andrew Carmellini, Josh Pickard and Luke Ostrom (Locanda Verde, The Dutch, Little Park and more). The restaurant’s focus is on classic Italian with prime cuts, the restaurant’s menu features prized, seasonal ingredients and the country’s best purebred beef, sustainable seafood and farm-raised poultry alongside house made pastas, antipasti and homespun desserts. Guests can enjoy items like 28 day dry aged prime beef James River, VA & Donnely Ranch, NE, Linguini Fini with Spicy Maryland Blue Crab and Peroni Roasted Chicken with Pendry Bay Spice, Salsa Giallo
THE SERVICE at the Sagamore Pendry
The staff here is delightful and always ready to help, from escorting you to your room to greeting you in the hallways to helping you get a taxi. Bell staff called all around town for me to find a NYC newspaper. Moët & Chandon Vending Machine…just love this idea.
