L’Auberge de Sedona, Sedona AZ

OVERVIEW of L’Auberge de Sedona

It would be hard to find a better setting for a romantic weekend away than L’Auberge de Sedona in Arizona. From the spectacular Red Rocks to cozy creek side cottages to private dining beside the rushing waters of the creek, a weekend here will rejuvenate an old relationship or get a new one off to a great start.

Located just 28 miles south of Flagstaff, L’Auberge sits on the banks of the Oak Creek in the Red Rock region of Arizona. The scenery is breathtaking, the town of Sedona is charming and the there are a host of activities both on-property and in the surrounding area. Art galleries, golf, hiking, horseback riding, jeep and helicopter tours, fishing, and hot air balloon rides are just some of the activities.

ROOMS at L’Auberge de Sedona

There are 62 luxury cottages, 21 traditional lodge-style guest rooms and a beautiful, stand-alone five-bedroom Creekhouse on the property. Cottages and rooms are decorated to reflect the colors of the creek with white walls, blue accents and dark wood furniture. We loved our Creekside Cottage with the sound of running water outside our door. It was nearly 500 sq ft in size, had a fireplace, an outside deck with table and chairs, an outside shower, down bedding, club chairs and an ottoman and L’Occitane bath products. As close to home as you can get.

DINING at L’Auberge de Sedona

89 Agave Cantina, located just above the resort, offers a Sonoran-style
Mexican food menu and 89 tequila options. With patio seating, this is a great place for a snack, a meal or just people watching.

Executive Chef Franck Desplechin helms the signature restaurant, Cress on Oak Creek. The prix fixe menu with French technique is inspired by Desplechin’s time in France working at 3 Michelin starred restaurants. Most recently he was Executive Chef at the acclaimed St Regis Hotel in San Francisco. Desplechin is also a level one sommelier. The restaurant offers an all day a la carte menu, a prix fixe dinner menu and a Sunday Brunch.

The dining room is elegant and comfortable but dining on the outside patio with tables set with crisp linens and flickering candles is nothing short of magical. They will even set you up in a private alcove, steps from the water for their Private Dining Creekside Reserve…it just doesn’t get more romantic than this.

Cress has been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 22 years. They utilize a Coravin System for their “wines by the glass” program which allows them to offer rare and fine wines that are preserved by the system. The excellent wine list is fairly priced and also showcases Arizona wines.
