Gurney’s Inn, Montauk

OVERVIEW for Gurney’s Inn Montauk

Gurney’s Inn Montauk has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation led by new owners George Filopoulos and Lloyd Goldman that has transformed the once stodgy old resort into the new hot spot at the East End. Wunderkind designer Michael Kramer has created 38 new oceanfront suites with grand terraces overlooking the ocean and 71 other rooms, suites and cottages have been refurbished.

The Beach Club has undergone a complete make-over with day beds, a new beachfront restaurant and bar and a “Beach Concierge.” A new sand filtered seawater swimming pool has been added, the 30,000 square foot Seawater Spa (which has a wonderful ocean side indoor pool) has been refreshed and the food and beverage program has been completely revamped.

THE ROOMS at Gurney’s Inn Montauk

There are 146 rooms, suites, and beachfront cottages, all delivering dramatic ocean views. The new oceanfront suites have private terraces overlooking the ocean, floor to ceiling windows, custom built furniture, wire brushed hardwood floors and state-of-the-art Bluetooth technology.

DINING at Gurney’s Inn Montauk

Scarpetta Beach serves signature Italian dishes and fresh seafood in an elegant dining room with panoramic views of the ocean. An outside deck offers al fresco dining when the weather is warmer. The casual Tillie’s is a bistro style restaurant that is open all day. The seasonal Beach Club offers private cabana service, casual fare and refreshing drinks and Corso Coffee offers cold pressed juices, smoothies, fresh fruit, artisanal coffees and teas and baked goods from its own in-house bakery. Guests can enjoy beverage and food service on daybeds on the beach and can arrange private dinners on the beach.

THE SPA at Gurney’s Inn Montauk

The Seawater Spa features an authentic Thalasso Therapy program which utilizes seawater and seaweed in a marine enriched environment to deliver the purest and most effective therapeutic benefits.

Montauk and Gurney’s is obviously a great summer destination, as a couple or a family, but it is equally as attractive for a winter weekend for two. There’s something wonderfully romantic about a walk on a deserted beach as you are bundled up for the cold. And, when the temps drop they freeze the upstairs at the Spa into a skating rink.
