Union Street Inn

OVERVIEW of The Union Street Inn

Union Street Inn, the only one of our Featured Properties in Nantucket to actually be in-town, is a beautiful circa 1770 inn with wide plank pine floors and 12 luxuriously appointed, guest rooms. Exquisitely maintained and gorgeously decorated, the rooms here (6 have working fireplaces) are among the most romantic we have seen in a B&B.

THE ROOMS at The Union Street Inn

Rooms have private baths, Frette linens, Matouk duvets and bathrobes, Fresh® toiletries, bottled spring water, air conditioning, flat screen TV’s and CD players and complimentary WiFi.

Our favorite room is No.3. A corner room on the first floor with a high poster king bed. Original 18th century natural pine paneling surrounds the fireplace. Spacious room in colonial red and parchment with over sized wing chairs in front of the working fireplace and an Oriental rug.

Second favorite is No. 9, the Queen suite. A second floor corner suite with a queen canopy bed, fireplace, and compact fridge. French doors open to a small sitting room with two wing chairs. Pierre Deux moss and ivory toile wallpaper.

Third favorite is room No.1, a Queen. A corner room on the first floor with a queen canopy bed. Original 18th century paneling surrounds the fireplace. Pierre Deux muted green and ivory toile wallpaper and an Oriental rug. Working fireplace.

DINING at The Union Street Inn

Union Street is the only B&B on Nantucket to serve a full breakfast, they were “grandfathered”  when the regulations changed. A delicious full breakfast, that changes daily, is served each morning on the patio weather permitting or inside and newspapers from all over are provided in the breakfast room. One day enjoy a scrambled egg omelet with fresh dill, chives, smoked bacon and freshly baked croissants, on another french toast made with Challah bread, topped with fresh berries, Vermont maple syrup and sausage links. Guests can also help themselves to granola, cereals, yogurt, orange juice, coffee and teas.

Owners & hosts Ken & Deborah Withrow utilize their backgrounds in hotel management (Ken managed the Royalton/NYC for Ian Schrager) and retail management (Deb was at Fiorucci & Henri Bendel/NYC) to create a boutique-style experience for their guests.

In the afternoons home-baked treats, such as white chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts and carrot cake are set out for guests.
