OVERVIEW of Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island
Located on a barrier island off the coast of Florida, the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island sits majestically behind the dunes overlooking the Atlantic. Impeccably manicured grounds with lush plantings and colorful flowers wind through the property and take full advantage of the natural habitat. You will dream about the sunrises here.
THE ROOMS at Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island
There are 446 rooms, stylishly decorated, and starting at a very ample 400sq feet. All with private balconies, Frette linens, goose down pillows and all the technical amenities. Large marble baths with plush towels, dual vanities and Asprey bath amenities. Our favorite room was the Fire Table Terrace Room with a water view and a fire table on the terrace.
DINING at Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island
The resort has 4 restaurants and the Lobby Bar. Signature restaurant is Salt, a AAA Five Diamond Restaurant with stunning ocean views. Coast offers a selection of fresh seafood (the Alligator Fritters are incredible), the Tidewater Grill combines the freshest Northern Florida ingredients. Locally-brewed beer flows and the menu pays homage to Southern classics. Local Mayport shrimp are fresh-from-the-boat and prepared using Chef’s own family recipes.
The Lobby Bar (and its outside terrace and fire pit) has the most amazing cocktail program we have seen. Each day they produce a custom made, house infused bourbon blend that is served at 5:45pm called “First Call”. Fantastic selection of small batch spirits. Fruit drinks are made with fresh squeezed juices. The signature Smoked Old Fashioned is incredible.
Coquina is an al-fresco restaurant with dinner served beneath lit palapas overlooking the resort’s dune-lined beaches. Coquina’s menu embraces the dynamic flavors inspired by the island’s time as a Spanish territory including ceviche made from freshly-caught fish and shareable tapas
THE SERVICE at Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island
A lot of places have good service, but it takes a special place to take it to another level. The staff here is extraordinary…friendly, helpful, engaged. It is obvious people like to work here. People I met on the first day for a few passing minutes, remembered my name on the third day.
