OVERVIEW of North Block Hotel

North Block is a boutique hotel in Yountville that could have been plucked from a Pottery Barn catalog. The stone buildings with slate roofs surround a courtyard that has seating areas and fireplaces. The entrance way is lined with citrus trees, hand painted tiles and lanterns. The chic lobby is bathed in shades of brown with one end anchored by a large stone fireplace surrounded by a brown leather sofa and coffee table set on a woven rug.

THE ROOMS at North Block Hotel

The 20 guestrooms are stylishly decorated in shades of brown and grey with dark wood headboards and bath vanities, comfortable reading chairs and custom wool carpeting. Comfortable beds are draped with Italian linens and goose down duvets. Ground floor rooms feature a personal patio while upstairs units include a private balcony. Bathrooms have soaking tubs and glass showers with rain showerheads. Many rooms have fireplaces and all have custom bath products, espresso machines, flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations and complimentary wireless internet.

The Restaurant at North Block is a Michelin Recommended restaurant and features a menu of coastal cuisine with an emphasis on live-fire fare. Some menu highlights; Roamn spied almonds. Fennel, coriander, cumin, red chili flakes; Wild Fungi Pizza. Talgio, mixed forest mushrooms, crispy thyme, parmesan cream; Chitarra Alle Vongole. Manila clams, bottarga, fresh garlic, white winebutter sauce, muddica; Risotto alla Genovese. Half Maine lobster, acquerello rice, creme fraiche, pesto Genovese.
