1770 House

OVERVIEW of 1770 House

1770 House is a magnificently restored 200 year old white clapboard inn with black shutters, a white picket fence and lush gardens located in the heart of all the activity in East Hampton. An acclaimed restaurant, a cozy pub and luxurious rooms make this a very special weekend retreat.

The lobby area is wood paneled with a warming fireplace and comfortable antique chairs and couches. The downstairs pub has a bar and dining area with wood beamed ceilings and partially brick walls and the upstairs dining room is luxurious in beige and brown tones, wood beamed ceilings and a fireplace.

THE ROOMS at 1770 House

Rooms are appointed with period antiques, some with fireplaces and private entrances. All are air-conditioned and have flat screen TV’s. Beds have super soft Frette linens and plump duvets.

My favorite room is #4, with its own private entrance, fireplace, views to the side garden and Main Street, a separate study/dressing room, wood beamed ceilings and one of the most comfortable and luxurious beds I have ever slept in. The bathroom had reproduction bath fixtures, Molton Brown bath products and a killer shower with a pulsating/massaging shower head. Simple touches like Fuji water and fresh fruit, a simple, easy to use alarm clock, terry robes and a washcloth embroidered make-up help make this a very comfortable place to stay.
