Just a few miles outside of town in the lovely little hamlet of ‘Sconset, The Summer House sits on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic. Few restaurants anywhere can compete with the restaurant
as a romantic evening experience. Soft lighting, flickering candles, a roaring fireplace and wonderful piano music create a memorable night. The lively piano bar is perfect for a pre-dinner drink or a stop after dinner to join in a sing-along.
Start with the Summer House Clam Chowder with Quahogs Clams served with red bliss potatoes and a rich creamy broth or the Summer Watermelon & Feta Cheese Salad with arugula, grape tomatoes, preserved lemon vinaigrette. We enjoyed a Grilled Thick Cut Swordfish with Wild Mushroom Risotto with a saffron tomato broth and the Summer House’s Clambake with Island Lazy Lobster with lobster, clams, mussels, red bliss potato, chorizo, corn in a butter bath.
Nice wine list with some good choices and fair pricing.
ROMANTIC QUOTIENT
Doesn’t get any better than this, particularly on the outside porch.
