For a more casual, less “fancy” dinner there are two casual dining option at Mirror Lake Inn. The View Lounge is in the Inn proper. It’s a cozy, dark little nook, located off the bar area with a wonderful fireplace and great views of the lake and mountains.They serve a small plate menu with items like Shrimp Cocktail, Smash Burgers, Risotto Fritters, Mushroom Lobster Toast Anything you select can be paired with wines from their wonderful award winning wine list.

The Cottage is located down the hill, right on the water, again with the mountains in the distance. This is our favorite restaurant in Lake Placid. Equally good for lunch, dinner or just drinks. Inside has a bar and table overlooking the water. It’s cozy and intimate. Outside is a patio, open all year with a roaring fireplace in the colder months.

Here you can enjoy homemade soups and chili, nachos, salads, waem brie, cheese board, wonderfulsandwiches with house made breads, flatbread pizza, and tacos.

Both places are ideal if you just want to kick back, enjoy good food and drink while marveling at the view.
