OVERVIEW of Allison Inn
Conceived by the Ken and Joan Austin and managed today by Waterford Hospitaliy, Allison Inn is destined to be one of the best in the country and certainly the best in the Northwest. Located at the north entrance of Willamette Valley wine country and set on 35 lush acres, the resort is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and rich farmland with mountain views in three directions.
The Inn produced its own Pinot Noir with the 2012 vintage of Austin Knoll Pinot Noir and recently intoduced a Pinot Gris. Both are poured exclusively at their restaurant Jory.
The contemporary four level Inn blends perfectly into its natural surroundings with its polished wood, glass and stone exterior. Inside, the public rooms are elegantly decorated in warm colors of ochre, pumpkin, eggplant and leaf green. Walls are graced with original artwork from local artists and a dramatic circular staircase connects all four levels. The Living Room with a large stone fireplace looks out over the gardens and is a cozy spot for a quiet drink or a bite to eat. Friday and Saturday nights feature live jazz. Outside the Living Room is a terrace with wonderful views of the gardens. It’s the perfect place for a drink or a snack when the weather is nice.
Just outside the dining room is a wonderful little bar with an excellent small plate menu and a fantastic wine (1oz taste, ½ glass or 5 oz glass) and cocktail selection. They feature over 50 wines by the glass.
The 15,000 square foot spa and fitness center on the lower level has everything you’ll need to work off those dinners and feel refreshed and revitalized. An indoor pool and spa are added benefits. A full range of services is offered in a tranquil setting and prices are very reasonable.
The Allison Inn & Spa has been awarded LEED Gold certification, one of a handful of hotel properties in the world committed to achieving this “green seal‟ relating to building practices and sustainable ongoing operations.

DINING at Allison Inn
JORY, is the 100-seat signature restaurant that serves all meals. The décor in shades of burgundy and gold and highlighted by natural Oregon woods, is elegant yet casual. Guests can dine in the restaurant, at the Chef s table, at the kitchen counter or outside on the terrace. The kitchen counter was great fun being able to watch everything come together and as the chefs give you tastes of what they are preparing.
The menu makes great use of Oregon’s locally produced products. While it changes seasonally, here are some recent samples: Selection of house cured charcuterie; cherries, hazelnuts, pickles, mustards, pumpernickel toast; Rabbit cannelloni: braised rabbit-ricotta filled pasta, foraged mushrooms, natural jus, spring herbs; Green garlic soup: smoked salt spring mussels, garlic chives, pickled shallots, crème fraîche; Pan roasted rack of lamb: lamb bacon, chickpea salad, cucumbers, yogurt mint dressing, zhug; Grilled heritage pork loin: Peruvian purple potato, pork belly confit agrodolce, shallot vinaigrette; Dark chocolate-pinot noir cake: cocoa nib granola, vanilla bean ice cream, espresso sauce; Berry pudding crumble: vanilla brioche custard, almond streusel crunch, Jory garden honey.
Jory has assembled a wonderful wine list, heavy on Oregon Pinots as you might expect, but also with excellent choices from around the world, including some hard-to-get cult wines. This is a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence wine list.
